A few signs that you might want to hire us to repair your refrigerator
Frost accumulation
The formation of ice is a common problem that you face when working with refrigerators. Fortunately, you really need to seek outside help to solve the problem. The first accumulation occurs in the ice dispenser of your refrigerator (also called the freezer).
The freezer door is called a flap, it is lined with a material that makes it airtight. It seals the freezer door, preventing moist air from entering the freezer through the gaps. If there is a dent or dirt on the lining of the flap door, moist air will get into the freezer. During prolonged operation of the freezer, this air will turn into ice covering the entire device.
A similar situation can also occur if the freezer door is left ajar for a long time. The best solution to this problem with the refrigerator is to check the lining of the flap door. Always make sure that the refrigerator doors are properly closed. If there is dust on the lining, wipe it with a cotton cloth. If you see cracks or dents, contact a specialist to fix the material.
Water leakage
Water leakage is a common and dangerous problem when repairing refrigerators in domestic conditions. Due to the excess water spilled around the device, anyone can slip and get injured. There are several reasons for water leakage, and most of them can be eliminated independently.
The most common cause is a clogged drain channel for defrosting in the refrigerator. The defrosting drain system is located inside the freezer, and food particles can get into the drain hole, clogging it. This blockage can lead to the formation of ice, which will lead to water leakage.
Try to access the sewer pipes from the inside to clean them by pouring hot water from a hose. Alternatively, you can also use a cleaner to clean the pipes from any solid particles. After cleaning the drain hole, rinse the refrigerator hose thoroughly before re-installing.
Another cause of water leakage is an ice-clogged water pipe. You will need to close the shut-off valve behind the refrigerator at the bottom to check if there are any blockages in the supply pipeline. You can also seek outside help from a repair specialist if you can’t find one.
Refrigerator not cooling
From time to time, your refrigerator may not cool enough, despite setting the correct temperature. In such cases, your food and other products will quickly go rancid, and it will be more difficult for the refrigerator to prepare ice. Touch its inner walls to check if your refrigerator has cooling problems. If they are cold enough, pay attention to the sound of the engine. If you do not hear the engine sound or it is very weak, the problem may be related to the compressor.
The compressor coils of your refrigerator may be covered with dust or debris, which prevents the device from cooling. To clean the coils, first unplug the refrigerator from the outlet. Use a cotton cloth or a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt.
Now turn on the refrigerator again and wait for a while until the cooling returns to normal; congratulations! However, if the problem persists, you should quickly call a maintenance specialist to help you figure out the problem.
